Things to see, do and experience in Ibiza

In the south, the island’s cosmopolitan capital Ibiza Town makes for a great day trip or evening out. Head to the vibrant harbour area to watch the glamorous boats moored in the port, take a seat in one of the many bars and restaurants to watch the world go by, or go shopping in the many unique boutiques and fashion stores dotted around this area.

No visit to the Balearic island of Ibiza would be complete without exploring the cobbled streets and ancient walls of UNESCO World Heritage site Dalt Vila, the fortified Old Town overlooking Ibiza’s port. There, you will also find the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Puget Museum and the Madina Yabisa Visitor Centre, where you can learn more about the island’s fascinating history and culture.

Foodies will love exploring the charming village of Santa Gertrudis with its many restaurants and bars. One of its most famous gourmet hotspots is the famous Bar Costa, where visitors queue to try the selection of ‘jamon iberico’ ham and typical sandwiches.

Shop your way through the island's many artisanal and hippy markets and pick up a souvenir from the Balearic Islands to take home with you. Closest to our hotels in Ibiza is the San José market offering local, handcrafted and organic foods and crafts. In the south of the island, fashion lovers will delight in hunting for vintage treasures at Sant Jordi market. And in the North, the famous hippy markets of Punta Arabi in Es Canar, and Las Dalias in San Carlos, await with a vast variety of jewellery, home decorations, and leather goods. 

After a day of exploring the north of Ibiza, turn in for a traditional Hierbas Ibicencas herbal liqueur and tapas at the famous Bar Anita.

The caves of Can Marçá, located above the beach of Port de Sant Miguel, are another fascinating destination. Explore the mystical limestone formations and marvel at stalactites, stalagmites and subterranean lakes.

Visit the magical beach of Benirrás to watch the sun sink into the sea behind the ‘Finger of God’ rock formation that reaches out of the Balearic Sea. In the summer, Sundays get incredibly busy because of the hippy drummers that play on the beach. If you want to avoid the crowds, rest assured that you will encounter a smaller number of the musicians at Benirrás on most days of the week.
