Highs in Tenerife

Tenerife is known for its beaches and excellent climate all year round. And, for adrenaline lovers like me, as a great place to unleash our most ‘risky’ impulses.

Every summer we try a new adventure sport in Tenerife. With its landscape full of contrasts, the island offers a variety of sports for the most adventurous spirits.

Parascending

Intercorp_tenerife_parascending @watersportstenerifeThis is my favourite sport. And all the family can enjoy it since you can fit 2 or 3 persons in the same parachute.

You get raised about 80 meters above the water to enjoy the breathtaking views from up there: The entire coast of Tenerife and the spectacular Teide. I will not say more, I will let you discover it on your own!

Parapente/ Paragliding

Intercorp_tenerife_parapente @TenerflyIf you want more adrenaline, more height and less water, you can try paragliding. It’s great because the only thing you have to do is sit back and enjoy since school paragliders are two-seater and the teacher pilots everything!

A trip like that, flying among the clouds, is really priceless. An unforgettable experience for the whole family, if only too short!

Flyfish

Intercorp_tenerife_flyfish @todoactividadesAs its name suggests, this aquatic attraction looks like a flying fish. Flyfish are floaters pulled by a boat that jump in the air so that you can’t stop laughing while you try as hard as you can to hold on and not fall into the water. It looks like the Banana -if you’ve tried it- with a peculiar twist: it flies. You really need to try it!

Flyboard

Intercorp_tenerife_flyboard @flyboardtenerifeThis sport will also take you to heaven, in a blast! Through a kind of hose on which you balance, this device projects you into the air and elevates you depending on your ability to keep your balance and stay on it. But don’t panic, it’s easy to learn and once you get the hang of it, you’ll have the time of your life.

Barco de alta velocidad/Speed boat

This is definitely the best activity to practice with all the family, it enables you to see the sites of Tenerife at full speed and in record time. And don’t forget your goggles and snorkel tube, you’ll be wanting to use them during the tour.

Tenerife BlueTrail

Intercorp_Tenerife_BlueTrailFor the always increasing running lovers this is an adventure not to be missed. The shortest route of the trail is 20 km and the longest (wait for it) 97km!

This year’s edition will be held on June 11th so you really should start training now. It is very well known among “Tinerfeños” (the Tenerife locals) and also internationally.

For more information on how to register and on the different routes, visit the race’s website: http://www.tenerifebluetrail.com/ For us it is a little too much of an adventure but all the family will probably be there encouraging you.
Now, you don’t have to try and do everything in the same visit. Choose the activity you like best and then go trying the rest until you find “your” sport. It will be the perfect excuse to come back every year to enjoy Tenerife!
