Can you imagine visiting a cave with more than a hundred thousand years old? And move you to a time of pirates and smugglers ? By the way, the cave was discovered by the these.  You will see the marks they made on the walls of the cave, in order to hide the stolen goods. Without a doubt, this is a surprising plan to do with children while you immerse yourself in the culture and natural beauty of Ibiza. Do not forget the camera! Or you will have to come back to capture such a beauty, again.

The cave is located in the north of the island, in the Port of San Miguel, San Juan. At 14 meters above sea level. One of the things that fascinates me is that it is located inside of a cliff, surrounded by a natural environment, looking at the Bay.

The cave, which since the 80’s has become a tourist attraction, remains open all year. Personally, one of the things I have not liked that much is that it’s been recreated artificially the sound that, formerly, emanated from the cascades. Which takes away some charm.

The tour, which lasts about 40 minutes, consists of two parts. During the first, you will see the natural outdoor environment, the cliffs and the breathtaking views. And the second, the interior of the cave with its geological formations that have been created as stalactites and stalagmites, their waterfalls and lakes. And, as I mentioned above, the footprints that the smugglers left on the walls to hide their goods.
