If, like me, you are thinking about your summer holidays for 2016 and you still haven’t decided where to go, I’m going to give you some arguments that have convinced me to choose Ibiza for my family holidays<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ibiza had never caught my attention. It was to “party destination”, a place for young people who want to enjoy the busy nights. But some friends in love with the island were always saying that there was much more to Ibiza than what I read in the press so we decided to risk it and, since then, we are another family in love with the island.<\/p>\n

Now I have to convince you. Because this wonderful island is really worth it.<\/p>\n

Best family holiday destination<\/span>
\nIbiza has been chosen “Best Family Holiday Destination” in 2015 by the British magazine Family Traveller, due to its beaches and calm waters, spectacular restaurants and cultural heritage, which makes the island a “fantastic choice for family holidays.” There must be reasons for that, don’t you think so?<\/p>\n

210 kilometres of coastline\"Cala<\/span>
\nThe island is small, but it boasts over 60 beaches -or coves- each more beautiful than the next. Plus, the waters of Ibiza are always quiet, so you can leave your children playing in the water without concern.<\/p>\n

Party<\/span>
\nObviously Ibiza is synonymous with partying, but that tends to be concentrated in some areas. Playa Den Bossa is clearly the place to go for a night out, as is the “West End” of San Antonio. However, the rest of the clubs are out of residential areas; so if that’s not what you want it is quite easy to stay out of the hassle.<\/p>\n

… But also cultural attractions<\/span>
\nDalt Vila, discovering the old town of Ibiza with its 60 000 square meters full of mystery and history is a unique experience. The island is also full of fortified churches, museums and historical monuments and natural parks; which provide some lovely excursions for the whole family.<\/p>\n

Ibizan cuisine<\/span>
\nIbiza has many traditional dishes that come from the old peasants, plus a lot of fish and fresh seafood. One tip: be aware that Spain eats later than the rest of Europe so most of the restaurants and bars don’t usually open before 8 or 8.30pm.<\/p>\n

\"CalaEs Vedr\u00e0 and unique landscapes<\/span>
\nA visit to Ibiza without going to the viewpoint of the magical island of Es Vedr\u00e0 is unthinkable. The rural landscapes in the interior of the island are also exceptional, both to admire and for hiking with children, something which many tourists are unaware of.<\/p>\n
