We have the memories of the holidays the the fun moments we have lived with family and friends. I do not know if it also happens to you, but once the holidays are over I like to start to think about the coming ones, to keep that illusion all the time. That way waking up early and working overtime seems easier because I have an upcoming goal, I visualize my next holidays and that gives me strength in my everyday life. And since it’s been beach this summer, this winter I can only think of mountain, snow and skiing. I can’t wait!

If there’s something that keeps a family together that is practising sports together, because we always learn something from each other. Children learn from our advice and expertise, and we learn from them passion for discovering new things and to not be afraid of anything. So when the heat goes down, we can only think of winter sports! We usually go to a different area every year to not get bored and especially because every place gives us something different, whether a new favorite restaurant, a beautiful nook or another city or village for our backpack. Last year we were seduced by the idyllic landscapes of the French Alps and we were amazed. We visited the most beautiful villages in the area and these, in our humble opinion, are certainly worth a visit:

Annecy, known as the Venice of the Alps, has a beautiful medieval town. Chamonix has spectacular views of the Mont Blanc and a long winter ski tourism. The village of Chinaillon, has a rural touch and a well-preserved historical heritage. We also loved Sixt Fer a Cheval, where a nature reserve occupies most of their municipality and where the Rouget waterfall of almost a thousand metres high is located. At the time of snowbreak it must a wonderful view.

Although after doing several routes around the area and getting to know each village we can say that we have our favorite: Megève.

Megève is a beautiful village located in the Mont Blanc, surrounded by unique scenery, completely green during the summer and completely white in winter. But what really made us fall in love was the village. Walking through its streets, its main square with medieval atmosphere, its narrow streets and the friendliness of the neighbours made us feel inside a Christmas story. It also it has four ski areas, with different levels to fully enjoy the sport and the snow. We liked it so much that this year all the family will give ourselves a present and will spend Christmas together there. We can’t imagine celebrating in a more magical place.

It is the illusion of the year, spending some fun days together as a family. We will play in the snow, ski a bit, try the delicious Savoyard cuisine and once again greet the imposing Mont Blanc that takes care of us from up there.

Summer is over.
